Vive la resistance!

I was catching up with a longtime friend who was visiting Soda City the other day on a swing through the Southeast.
I asked him about his adventures since he's partially retired now; his job had taken him all over the world. He told me he wasn't traveling as much and was volunteering, along with others in his neighborhood, walking young Latinx children to school because the kids' parents did not feel safe from ICE.
"What do the children call you?"
"They just call us 'teacher'," he said. "To them, we're part of the school."
His language fluency helps tremendously with this mission, which I think is more authentically "Christian" than anything MAGA world has or can offer.
Resistance takes so many forms, doesn't it?
