Deadpool 2's director David Leitch and star Ryan Reynolds plow deeper
into the first film's irreverence to lampoon the Marvelous Comic
Universe of which Deadpool is self-satisfactorily not a part of.
Propriety is MIA in the eternal rejuvenator's bloody but not entirely
cynical adventure, which directs as much of its attention to the world
of film as it does to the film's fictional world. In this sweeping and
nonsensical tale, costumed avenger (lower case A) Wade Wilson / Dead
pool
loses his true love (Morena Baccarin) in a revenge attack by some bad
guys and vows to join her in the afterlife. The indestructible
Deadpool's powers of rejuvenation, however, keep him from achieving his
goal, so, in the meantime he joins up with a motley crew of not entirely
actualized mutants to save a mouthy, intemperate and dangerous kid (the
hilarious young Kiwi actor Julian Dennison of Hunt for the
Wilderpeople) from a time-traveling assassin (Avengers: Infinity War's
MVP Josh Brolin). The body count, of course, is unchartable, and the
laughs are delivered so fast and furiously that the script (co-written
by Reynols) often works against itself.

123movies online - Went into this with such high expectations and was hopeful that it would be somewhat reminicient of the first movie, but sadly it was not meant to be. What a let down. Right from the start something seemed off with both the script and acting, it seemed as though the jokes were... missing. I assumed it was a movie that got better the more you watched and they were saving the better laughs for the second half. But no, hardly any memorable jokes, just lots and lots of CG action scenes which seemed boring. I found myself bored and yawning at the thin plot and shallow characters. The X-Force seemed promising but that didn't last long. A very frustrating 2hrs and money wasted on what was essentially a total misfire of a sequel that could have been as entertaining as the first.

I don't think was bad as that although there is a self-satisfaction in the film that works against it. It feels more and more like a vanity project with little aside from Reynold's charm and shtick to hold it together.
